Kashmir Conflict

In the 1965 war, I would say Pakistan wrongly assessed the possibility of an Indian Counter Offensive on the International Border.

People often misplace Operation Gibraltar as the Primary Objective for Pakistan in the 1965 war, which in my view was the primary mission. But in the war the objectives were different. We can say that operation Gibraltar was wrongly planned and executed, according to the portrayals and media propaganda there is no second opinion in that. But during the war the primary and major objective for India was different than just suppressing a movement in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Now, we have come to a discussion where we cannot leave the Kashmir Conflict out of the scenario. The freedom struggle or the wrongly labelled Pakistani sponsored terrorism (whatever you may call it) was not over at that point, it is still very much at large till now, and as far as the policies go, it will remain just like this till at least the next few decades.

If we take on the subject of Pakistani Infiltration in Kashmir, there is a very strong argument in the mass media horizons that support Indian viewpoint in this regard. However, I am entirely against it, and I truly endorse the Pakistani Offensive Strategy in Kashmir, and I have strong reasons to backup my premise.

1. If Pakistan doesn't support the Kashmir Movement, then they have to entirely withdraw their claim of Kashmir.

2. It is in Pakistani Interest to claim Kashmir as part of their land due to its abundant resources, geographical prospective, all our waters come from there, economical prospects, agriculture, tourism, two nation theory and many more.

3. If Kashmir is not a disputed territory and it belongs to India, then Pakistan will rely on India for Water, electricity and all the major amenities that depend on them (which means pretty much everything)

4. In partition every Riyasat had a right to choose which side they want to go, Kashmir's ruler annexed it to India, however, Junagarh was annexed to Pakistan, Hyderabad was a free state. Now India claims that Kashmir was annexed to them that is why they have a right to it. What about the rights of Junagarh and Hyderabad.

5. I know many people from Azad Kashmir, who tell me the stories of their fighting with Indian Forces in 1948. This was the time when Azad Kashmir became a part of Pakistan. And those brave people gave their lives while fighting with stones against the Indian Army - Don't they deserve freedom.

If Pakistani support of Kashmir Movement is wrong, then what claim do India have on Baluchistan to fund their movement, it is always the main mission of India to fund the very few people who are against the creation of Pakistan, be it Bangladesh, Baluchistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Sindh, or anti Pakistan sentiment in Afghanistan. They just try to find and fund a few hundred people in these areas and use them in their massive destabilizing campaign against Pakistan. Results of this campaign can be seen over the Internet and News outlets, there is a massive anti Pakistan sentiment if you search on keywords like Baluchistan Conflict.

I think that anyone who doesn't support the Kashmir Movement is not a patriot, and these days, I am really fed up of the pseudo-intellectual liberal unpatriotic mourning that has taken root in the brains of many Pakistanis.

And believe me this is called mass brainwashing, and India is very successful in doing it to us Pakistanis.

Who Won the 65 India-Pakistan War

This is a very debatable subject, and most of the stats will favor only the party who is strong in propaganda.
So, basically the war was not just fought on the borders, media and information was also a key element in keeping the moral of the subjects up, and likewise, keeping the international community in line with the official version.

So why do we celebrate defense day, I know you have read the wiki article and all. Basically, both parties set specific targets, first was Pakistan with Gibraltar and all. Now we Pakistanis feel very strongly about Kashmir, (it is debatable, but it is a separate debate). We were of the view that a few soldiers and razakaars in the name of freedom fighters will trigger a massive movement in Kashmir, and we have America to back us up. Apart from this, India had a very bad skirmish session with China and was exposed in its weak points. So this was tactically the best option for Pakistan to start a movement like this. (And please don't blame Pakistan here, because this is what countries and their agencies do, e.g. Khalistan Movement, Baluchistan Conflict, Afghanistan, Cuba etc.)

The operation went south and the problem was that the leadership was of the view that Kashmir is a disputed territory, so if anything is done in Kashmir, it will stay in Kashmir. However, on the other side, the Indian Govt. thought of Kashmir as their un-spendable asset, and they were not in a position to negotiate on it - still aren't.

They attacked Pakistan from multiple Dimensions, started a counter offensive in Kashmir to pull back freedom fighters and tried to initiate a Blitzkrieg like offensive to cut Pakistan in two halves and capture the grand trunk road.

They attacked Lahore from BRB and Kasur. They attacked Sialkot sector with heavy armored units along with Air Support.

This is where Pakistan was in a do or die situation, they were in a defensive position against an enemy who wanted to close the Pakistan chapter and Two nation theory once and for all.

Their target was to capture Lahore, but they failed due to the courage of our men along with the moral of the people. Who came to their roof tops to watch dog fights of air clashes between two forces. The people were so much motivated that they even tried to hit the enemy aircrafts with their guns.

Indian Army wasn't able to achieve their target of Lahore capture, however, the Pakistan Army tried to infiltrate India and capture the key city of Amritsar. They were successful to capture Khem Karan, but that was the end of the Lahore Chapter.

In Sialkot Sector, major forces tried to make their way into the city and to the grand trunk road, their target was to get to Wazirabad and capture grand trunk road and halt all the Pakistan Army Supply lines. This is the place where major fighting took place, and our soldiers didn't hesitate to lay in front of the tanks with bombs in their hands. Pakistan Army lost key posts at first but at Chawinda, they succeeded in countering a major offensive of Indian Army and they retaliated.

In the third front of Rajistan, Pakistan was on the offensive, and in similar Chawinda Fashion, they lost horribly just like India had in Chawinda.

So basically the war was not won nor lost, Pakistan celebrates this Defense Day, because the forces and people of Pakistan were able to defend themselves from an enemy that was multiple times larger and more resourceful than them.

Pakistani Missions

Gibraltar - Failed
Asal Utar - Failed
Defense of Country - Passed
Air Superiority - Passed
Defense of Strategic Assets - Passed
Capture of Enemy Territory - Passed (Even while being in a defensive position)

Indian Missions

Kashmir Counter Offensive - Passed
Lahore Control - Failed
Sialkot Control - Failed
Grand Trunk Road Control - Failed
Air Superiority - Failed
Destruction of Key Assets - Failed
Capture of Territory - Failed

You cannot judge the outcome of the war in terms of number of casualties or losses. The numbers can be biased and they could represent mass propaganda (Dont Believe me? See Hafiz Saeed's Wikipedia page - it is created by Indian Intelligence - I am sure of it). You can judge the outcome of a war by checking if the key missions were failed or achieved.

And no source can back this up, because we can surely say that we live in a free country - which was not possible otherwise.

Why doesn't Pakistan just annihilate Taliban using all its military forces after the Peshawar school assault?

What factors are stopping the Pakistan government from taking stern action against the terrorists? Why not just launch an all out attack on the Taliban and try to end it once and for all?

It would be the best option to destroy all of them once and for all. But, we live in a society that is infested with extremism. I believe that all of them must have been wiped out from the face of the earth a long time ago. But the realities in our country differ majorly from our thoughts.

In our society, apart from the liberal few, we have always been told about the importance of religion and its hardline interpretations. As you know the entire Khyber Pukhtunkhwa along with majority of rural and urban areas are in the direct control of Mullahs and the people living, especially in the FATA, consider the religion and its hardline interpretations as the basic element that every human soul must follow. When they see the modernizing trends being adopted by people all over Pakistan, they tend to label the rest of Pakistanis as un-religious.
As far as my research into the matter prevails, these guys now acting as Pakistani Taliban, were trained by our military, in camps of Kohat. Once being the part of the LASHKAR, that was created to maintain law and order situations in the remote areas. The Lashkar received special trainings from special forces in order to make them strong and able to defend themselves in the Guerrilla Warfare in a very difficult terrain. The primary task of this Lashkar was the policing of the Tribal Areas, after every roadblock of FC, the Taliban had their own check post, which was considered very difficult to pass by the people who were into the smuggling of arms and drugs.
The important thing is the transition of these guys from the ones who were able to protect large areas from crimes to becoming the ones responsible for conducting attacks on major areas of Pakistan. The secondary significance of keeping these guys as a force was to manipulate things in Afghanistan, which of course Pakistan considered as its own province. It was very important for Pakistan to maintain its presence in Afghanistan, mainly in order to keep the Indians at an arm’s length of influence on the west side of Pakistan. Another aim was to develop a force that could work on destabilizing agendas of Pakistan, primarily in Indian Occupied Kashmir. 9/11 was when things went wrong, Pakistan choose to part ways with these guys and the entire ideology of keeping an armed movement in order to destabilize India got a heavy punch on its face. Please don’t forget that we always relied on these Jihadi groups in all wars with India and the liberation of Kashmir in 1948.
The Musharraf regime was hardcore on eliminating this Talibanization, however, he was and still is opposed mainly due to conducting an operation on Lal Masjid of Islamabad, which I think held extreme importance, and without an operation, the entire state was in jeopardy. Musharraf had to visit courts, because he was facing cases in which he was charged with murder and treason, he was asked about the legitimacy of his operation in Lal Masjid. What more legitimate ground can one possibly need, when people are creating a separate country in a state?
This is where things get tense, we all want to get rid of terrorism, but at the same point we don’t want to end extremism from our society. We are the people who kill Governors for supporting a woman who was charged with a death sentence. We are the people who fill up the necks of the murderers with roses, just because he killed a person who was not an appropriate Muslim in the eyes of Mullahs. And we are the people who kill non-Muslim by burning them alive. We do all that in the name of religion.
Our society is embedded deep with extremist elements, the Mullahs today still support the terrorists, and don’t even condemn their acts of terror. So, we are not just facing a group of people, and eliminating them would end this menace. We need someone to guide our masses, to modernize ourselves and let go of the extremism in our society. Not very far away, in our capital Islamabad, there are still mosques that hold Kashmir Jihad Hiring very openly. These fighters are still being created in the name of religion, and we will continue to die unless this radicalism is changed. I hope that is done before the entire fabric of our society is ripped apart.

Message In A Bottle

"To all the ships at sea, and all the ports of call. To my family and to all friends and strangers. This is a message, and a prayer.

The message is that my travels taught me a great truth. I already had what
everyone is searching for and few ever find. The one person in the world who I was born to love forever.

A person, like me, of the outer banks and the blue Atlantic mystery. A person rich in simple treasures. Self-made. Self-taught. A harbor where I am forever home. And no wind, or trouble or even a little death can knock down this
house.

The prayer is that everyone in the world can know this kind of love and be healed by it. If my prayer is heard, there will be an erasing of all guilt and all regret and an end to all anger.
Please, God. Amen."

Message In A Bottle

My life began when l found you...
...and l thought it had ended when l failed to save you.
l thought that hanging on to your memory was keeping us both alive.
But l was wrong.
A woman showed me that...
...if l was brave enough to open my heart...
...l could love again, no matter how terrible my grief.
She made me realize l was only half-alive.
It scared me and it hurt.
l didn’t  know how much l needed her till the night she flew away.
When that airplane took off, l felt something inside me tear away.
And l knew.
l should have stopped her.
l should've followed her home.
And now tomorrow, l'm going to sail to the windy point...
...and l'm going to say goodbye to you.
Then l'm going to go to this woman...
...and see if l can win her heart.
lf l can, l know you'll bless me.
And bless us all.
lf l can 't...
... then l'm still blessed because l've had the privilege of loving...
... twice in my life.
She gave me that.
And if l tell you l love her as much as l loved you...
... then you'll know the whole story.
Rest in peace, my love.
